The Stuff You Wish They Taught In College

I'm 33 years old and I think I've finally got it together.

Of course, I'm not saying I was a complete hot mess before my 30's. I'm merely saying I've figured out the core of who I really am and what I really want. I am genuinely confident about it, and not just winging it saying "Eh, let's see how this goes. Hopefully, this is it!" All the details are still TBD, but I know exactly what I want to achieve in my personal and professional life.

I owe this clarity to my impulsiveness and Eat, Pray, Love attitude in my 20's; but let's face it... when you're in your 20's living in NYC, LA or SF, you can't Eat, Pray, Love when you don't even have enough money to eat. Praying and loving do not pay the bills. Let's just say my desire for adventure and unforgettable experiences played a role in a lot of my decisions - some were good, some were bad, but all brought about great life lessons.

I've been very lucky to have done and experienced a ton in my short 33 years on this planet, and I'd like to think I've learned so many wonderful things about what it means to be a human in this great, big world of ours; and yet, I feel like there are so many things I wish I learned or at least knew about in college to help me prepare for adulthood.

Starting today, the world will be blessed with a series of blog posts and essays about work, life and of course marketing, because I enjoy talking about marketing almost as much as dogs. From tips on how to start a small business to explaining what those words mean on your employer's health insurance plan, I'm hoping my mistakes, successes and setbacks will help someone get it together a lot sooner. If not, I'd be happy if I can get at least one laugh from my readers.
